The CERN Council Strategy Group has organized an open Symposium on European Strategy for particle physics research at LAL (Laboratoire de l'Accélérateur Linéaire) in Orsay, France from January 30 to February 1st 2006.

The purpose of the Symposium was to give an overview of the future perspectives on High Energy Physics and to provide a forum for an open discussion.

The Symposium will be followed by a workshop at Zeuthen on May 2-6, 2006 and a CERN Council meeting in July 2006 in Lisbon with the aim of reaching a unanimous approval of the Strategy Document.
