Abstract: These lectures will introduce and discuss the theoretical concepts underlying modern Monte Carlo event generators for the simulation of high-energetic particle collisions at accelerator-based experiments. The lectures will focus in particular on various aspects of consistently including higher-order corrections into the simulation.
